Anxiety & Anxiety Conditions

Anxiety is a type of panic and is associated with adrenaline spikes (the fight-flight response) and is often related to a sense of nerves that things aren't going to be ready in time, or that something will go wrong, or won’t meet with approval. If a person is nearly always anxious, it may be a general condition termed GAD, or Generalized Anxiety 'Disorder'.

Music thoughts

If feeling anxious it is natural to seek out music that is reassuring, comforting, or calm. Anxiety is a type of hype or tension feeling so the aim might be to reduce that feeling. Radio stations with regular phone-ins that you enjoy might also be good (eg LBC, here in the UK). But it would depend how the anxiety is perceived and what is causing it - for example, if a lack of letting go is a cause, then something you can dance to - in private if need be - or other more free or expressive things, could be good. For others, it might just be a mellow mood that is required.
